The Cathedral Basilica of Saint Peter in Chains is a historic downtown cathedral that is home to a diverse and thriving faith community. We hope that what you see here will lead you to visit the cathedral in person!
Over the years, the Cathedral has been the site of many significant celebrations in the life of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.
The Cathedral continues to serve as the scene for a wide range of Archdiocesan celebrations and events, and groups holding conventions in Cincinnati often use the Cathedral for liturgies or concerts.
In contrast to all the large-scale celebrations, the Cathedral parish quietly ministers to the poor of the area and to the constant stream of people who come to participate in the sacraments … confirmations, baptisms, marriages and funerals – and, of course, the daily celebration of Mass and reconciliation – continue the living story of the Cathedral Basilica.

Saturday Vigil: 3:00 p.m.
Sunday: 9:00 a.m., 11:00 am (Choir – September through mid June) & 5:00 p.m.
WEEKDAY & HOLY DAY MASSES
Monday – Friday: 7:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m. & 5:15 p.m.
Saturday: 11:30 a.m.
HOLIDAY MASSES
Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day & Thanksgiving Day: 9:00 a.m.
RECONCILIATION (Confession):
Monday – Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 7:45 a.m.;
12 noon – 12:30 p.m. & 4:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Saturday: 12 noon to 2:00 p.m.
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
Fridays 12 noon – 5:00 p.m. ending with Benediction (Chaplet of Divine Mercy is prayed at 3:00 p.m.

Cathedral Basilica Tours
Monthly tour of the Historic Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter in Chains - est. 1845
History & Archictecture Tour given monthly on the 2nd Sunday of each month, following the 11am Mass (12:20pm). Guided tour is FREE.
