Day 25

St. Vincent de Paul

Daily saint Intention

Today we are praying through the intercession of St. Vincent de Paul for minds to be open to learning about life in the womb. May the saint who spent his life educating the poor and vulnerable be a source of inspiration for learning in the world. St. Vincent de Paul, pray for us!

Novena Opening Prayer

O Holy Mother, at thy feet I offer a crown of roses, golden roses to remind thee of the divine life, which was opened to humanity through your family’s suffering, the Glorious Mysteries of thy heart. Bound together by my petition for the protection of human life and dignity and the defeat of Issue 1, I entrust this gift to thee, knowing that I have no reason to despair while in the presence of your Most Gentle, Charitable Heart.

From thy bounty, please grant the favor I now so earnestly seek. Show thyself, my Queen, and come to my aid! Amen.

Rosary

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

I believe in God,
the Father Almighty,
Creator of Heaven and earth;
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended into Hell;
the third day He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into Heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God,
the Father almighty;
from thence He shall come
to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body
and life everlasting.
Amen.

*For the intentions of our Holy Father, Pope Francis

Our Father,
Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done,
on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Concluding Prayers

Hail, holy Queen,
mother of mercy,
our life, our sweetness, and our hope.

To thee do we cry,
poor banished children of Eve.

To thee do we send up our sighs
mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.

Turn then, most gracious advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us,
and after this our exile
show us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

Leader: Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.

Response: That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Leader: Let us pray,

All: O God, whose only begotten Son,
by His life, death, and resurrection,
has purchased for us the rewards of eternal salvation.
Grant, we beseech Thee,
that while meditating on these mysteries
of the most holy Rosary
of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
that we may both imitate what they contain
and obtain what they promise,
through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.

Chaste Heart of Joseph, pray for us.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.

Novena Closing Prayer

Sweet Mother Mary, I offer thee my petition for the protection of human life and dignity and the defeat of Issue 1, bound to the mysteries of thy heart, that St. Joseph may take these sweet flowers and form from them a shining crown to place upon thy head. O Most Loving Mother, look with favor upon my gift, and grant the graces I now implore.
